Compare and Order Decimals

To compare decimals we can use the number line:
1) First locate the decimals on the number line

Now, compare the decimals.
(The number on the left is less than the number on the right)

To compare the decimals we can also use the place value method:
1) Compare the whole number part. The decimal with the greater whole number part is greater

2) If the whole number parts are equal compare the tenths digit. The number with the greater tenths digit is greater. If the tenths digit is equal then compare the next digit and so on.

Use the number line or place value to compare the decimals

To order the decimals from least to greatest or greatest to least:
1) Add zeroes to the decimals so that each decimal has same number of decimal places
