Factoring Polynomials

In this concept, we use the concept of factors and GCF to factor polynomials and expressions. We learn various methods to do this, and learn about special polynomial products.
The concept is broken into smaller topics, which makes it easier and much more fun for students. The topics are listed below:-
Choosing a Factoring Method
In this topic, we learn to choose a factoring method to factor the polynomials.
Factoring ax^2 +bx + c
In this topic, we learn to factor the trinomial ax^2 + bx + c into its binomial factors.
Factoring by GCF
In this topic, we learn to factor using GCF and grouping. We also learn to factor out a common binomial.
Factoring Special Products
In this topic, we learn to recognize and factor perfect-square trinomials. We also learn to factor the difference of two squares.
Factoring x^2 + bx + c
In this topic, we learn to factor a trinomial into two binomials.
Factors and Greatest Common Factor
In this topic, we learn to write prime factorizations using factor tree and ladder diagram. We also learn to find the Greatest Common Factor (GCF) of numbers and monomials by two methods - listing the factors and using prime factorization.
