Identifying Congruent Figures

In this topic, we will learn to identify congruent figures and to use congruence to solve problems.

Topic: Congruent Figures

  • Figures that have the same shape and same size are congruent

  • If one figure can be exactly superimposed on the other, they are said to be congruent

Topic: Congruent Polygons

  • If all the corresponding sides and angles of two polygons are congruent, then the polygons are congruent

  • For triangles in particular, if the corresponding sides are congruent, then the corresponding angles will always be congruent. This is called the Side-Side-Side Rule

Topic: Find Missing Measures

  • If two polygons are congruent, all their corresponding sides and angles are congruent
