This topic introduces 2-dimensional figures. A student learns to identify, describe, and classify squares, rectangles, triangles, and circles.

Topic: 2 Dimensional Figures

  • Flat shapes which take up certain amount of area, but do not take up space are called 2-dimensional figures

  • A square is a figure which has 4 equal sides and 4 equal angles

  • A rectangle is a figure with opposite sides equal in length and all angles equal in measure

  • A circle is a round figure which has no sides or angles

  • A triangle is a figure which has 3 sides and 3 angles
