Elapsed Time- Ending Time and Time Between the Events

In this topic, we learn to find ending time and the time between the events.

Topic: Find Elapsed Time

  • Elapsed time is the amount of time it takes to go from start to finish

  • To find the elapsed time use skip-counting by hours and minutes

  • To count past midnight (after 12:00 midnight), write A.M. instead of P.M. For example: 3 hours after 10 P.M. = 10:00 ---> 11:00 ---> 12:00 --->1:00 A.M

Topic: Find Ending Time

  • To find the ending time, skip-count by the hours and by minutes

  • For example: start time: 10:00 A.M.; elapsed time: 3 hours and 15 minutes; skip-count by the hour to add 3 hours and then skip-count by 5 minutes to add 15 minutes
