  • We can estimate the products whenever an exact product is not required

  • To estimate products, round the number to the highest place

  • To estimate 7 x 345, round 345 to the nearest hundred and multiply

  • We can estimate the products whenever an exact product is not required

  • To estimate products, round the numbers to their highest place

  • To estimate 57 x 421, round 57 to its highest place (tens) and 421 to its highest place (hundreds)and then find their product

Topic: Estimate Money

  • We can estimate the products whenever an exact product is not required

  • To round money amounts with a decimal point, look at the number of cents

  • If the number of cents is 50 or more, round up to the next dollar. Else, round down to the previous dollar

  • To round money amounts without a decimal point, round the amount as with whole numbers and insert the dollar sign
