Multiply by 2 Digit Numbers

This topic deals with the concept of multiplication of two digit numbers. We also learn to use models to multiply two digit numbers by two digit numbers.

  • Use one factor as the length and other as the width of the rectangle to find the product

  • The product is the total number of squares covered by the rectangle

  • Distributive Property of multiplication says that you can multiply the addends of a sum by a number, and then add the products

  • To multiply 2 digit numbers, multiply the tens and the ones and regroup if necessary and then add the products

  • To multiply money amounts, multiply the same way we multiply whole numbers. Insert the dollar sign and decimal point
