Count Money and Make Change

In this topic, we learn to identify various denominations of money and learn how to count money and make change.

Topic: Counting Money and Change

  • Identify the bills and coins for their denominations

  • Count up from the price

  • Use the small denominations first and count up to the nearest dollar

  • Use the same concept to count up to the amount paid

  • The sum of the coins and bills will give the change; for example, if the coins and bills used to count up are a dollar bill and 2 ten cent coins, the change is $1.00 + $0.20 = $1.20
