Scale Drawings

In this topic, we learn to use scale drawings to find the actual lengths or the scale.

Topic: Find the Measurement

  • A scale gives a ratio that compares the measurements on the drawing or model to the measurements of the real object

  • The ratio of map distance to the actual distance must remain the same, that is, the two ratios must be in proportion

Topic: Find the Scale

  • To find the scale, set up a ratio in the form of a fraction

  • Divide the length in the drawing by the actual length

  • Make sure that the number 1 is there in the numerator or the denominator
